Ho chi Minh City was formerly named Saigon prior to annexation by the Vietnamese in the 17th Century. On 2 July 1976, Saigon merged with the surrounding Gia Dinh Province and was officially renamed Ho Chi Minh City after revolutionary leader Ho Chi Minh.

1. Cu Chi Tunnels



Cu Chi Tunnels are located in the Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City.  It is an immense network of connecting underground tunnels. The Cu Chi tunnels were the location of several military campaigns during the Vietnam War, and were the Viet Cong's base of operations for the Tet Offensive in 1968.

2. Pham Ngu Lao Street




Pham Ngu Lao street is located in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City.  It was named after Pham Ngu Lao, the national hero. In this street, people sell cheap clothes, DVDs, souvenirs, and war memorabilia. Many bars and cafes in this district are conveniently located near Saigon's city centre. This area is called Khu Tay Ba Lo, which means Backpacker's area.

3. Suoi Tien Amusement Park




If you are staying Ho Chi Minh City for several days, Suoi Tien Amusement park can be a good place to visit. Suoi Tien Amusement Park is in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City. The park includes several entertainment areas. The landscaping and attractions in the park illustrate Vietnam's history and legends, such as Au Co and Lac Long Quan as well as the Battle of Son Tinh and Thuy Tinh (The Mountain God and The River God). When the hotness is on the top of you, you can blow it with exciting Six Flags!
