The Hangang Mongttang Summer Festival (21 Jul. ~ 20 Aug.)

Hangang River will turn into the Beach!  Enjoy Sunbath under the Bridge



The Hangang Mongttang Summer Festival is set to open at 11 Hangang parks in Seoul from July 21 to August 20.

Under the theme of "Rediscovering how to use Hangang,” it offers 80 programs which are divided into three categories, “Staying Cool” (water sports, swimming, races and challenges), “Touching Moments” (concerts and performances to enjoy) and “Together” (environment and the ecosystem).

Most notable are this year’s best programs selected by the city (1~15th Aug.). Korea’s largest cultural festival will be held with a wide range of programs like Cardboard Boat Race, Fire Dancing Festival and Global Food Festival during this period.



The Seoul Metropolitan Government introduce “Best programs” that you don’t miss at the festival.

Jamsugyo Bridge Vacation (28~30, Jul.)
Wide range of performing arts and events held in a sandy beach situated under the bridge. Water slides using the slope of Jamsugyo Bridge


Hangang Rickshaw Tour (21, Jul.~13, Aug.)
Enjoy a rickshaw ride with cool breezes
Venue: Yeouido, Banpo/Jamwon, Jamsil and Yanghwa Hangang Parks
Entry Fee: 5,000 to 15,000 won




2018 Pyungchange Village (24, Jul. ~ 20, Aug.)
Olympic Games Information and PR Center. Winter Sports programs such as Ski, Skating and Sliding, etc.



Heart Beat Festival (22, Jul.)
It will host popular rappers and also create a “horror theme park” where people can feel the chill running down the spine to overcome heat.

Sounce Parade & Water War (5~6, Aug.)
Music Festival harmonized with nature, music, dance, artistic experience and relaxation. Wide range of events such as water gun fights, waterslides, attractions.


They also include a "Cardboard Boat Race" (11~15, Aug.) in which people compete in the river using a self-made boat made up of corrugated paper and plastic wraps, "The Water Fight Festival” (30, Jul.) where participants fight against a monster living in the river, “Night Walk 42K,” (29, Jul.) Korea’s only walking program at night near the Han River, and "Film Festival and Used Bookshop under the Bridge,”(22, Jul.~19. Aug.) which will turn into a theater or a book store under a bridge at 20h every Sat. night.



It also offers diverse concerts. “Jazz in summer night,” which is free outdoor concert, and the “Fire dancing Festival"(14~15, Aug.).



Every Sunday, some 100 food trucks will join together for a “Gourmet Party." The “Global Food Festival” (13~15, Aug.) will offer international food to experience different dishes from the world.



“Summer Camping” (7, Jul.~20, Aug.) will be prepared around 430 tents at 3 sites of Hangang park, Ttukseom Island, Jamwon and Yeouido. Various of cultural programs such as busking, open-air theater, traditional performances of various countries.
